12 Weeks of Prayer Week 8 Day 6
We Must Decrease and He Must Increase
By Justin N. Citro
"Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted,
which did eat of my bread,
hath lifted up his heel against me."
Psalm 41:9
We as Christians must continue to better ourselves for the greater good of the body of Christ, for if we do not better ourselves, we are betraying ourselves. Betrayal of a family member is something that we do not want to face as Christians, but sometimes it occurs for whatever reason. However, it is still up to us to face the situation head-on. No person wants to be betrayed by those that they love. The reality is that you may love them, but they do not love or respect you because you stand for God. Standing for God is key in these last days, and you must be ready to face anyone that may come to betray you.
The Bible says in the book of Psalm 41:9 KJV, "Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me." This verse explains the betrayal of a friend whom you trusted and then turned his or her back on you. You must be prepared to face this type of betrayal in life. We as Christians must prepare ourselves to be betrayed by the world for the stands we take in Christ Jesus, and we should welcome this for if the world is betraying us, that means we are in correct standing with the Father. All that matters is that when all is said and done, you have God's approval for His approval is all you need. Beloved, my encouragement to you today is to stand firm in your faith and always be prepared to stand against those who try and betray you. It is better to stand for God rather than man. Heavenly Father, I thank You and I give You praise for protecting me against those who have betrayed me. Lord, please forgive them and help them. Lord, give me wisdom and help as I stand for you. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
