12 Weeks of Prayer Week 9 Day 6
To Twist Is To Deny
By Justin N. Citro
"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
Acts 17:11
As members of the body of Christ, questions about the Word of God arise and come to our mind about what the Word of God means, how it should be read, if its literal or figurative. However, one thing we as Christians must be always able to comprehend is this: The Word of God will not change until the end of the age when Christ returns to the earth for a second time to rapture the Church (Body of Believers). The reason I say this is because changing the Word of God is also denying the word of God. Those who take the teachings of the Bible and take them out of context are, in fact, denying the Bible of its true purpose, and that purpose is to teach people the right from wrong, the saved from the unsaved, the clean from the unclean, the righteous from the unrighteous. Denial of the Word of God is also doubting the Word of God. In these end times, we must not doubt the Word of God for it is the only thing keeping the Church from falling any more than it has. The Word of the Lord is sacred to those who heed it wholeheartedly. We must always keep the Word in our hearts constantly.
What does the Word of God say about keeping the Word of the Lord? Acts 17:11 KJV says this, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Here the Apostle Paul is talking about the diligence of the scholars in Thessalonica and how they studied the Word and kept it in hearts. This is the prime example that we should all follow in keeping the Word safe within us and letting it work, building our faith. The Word of God is Holy and should be kept as such. Brothers and sisters, my encouragement to you is do not let doubt come into your life and start to lead you into doubting The Bible. Instead, study the Bible, and let its teachings help you draw closer to the Lord Almighty for if we build ourselves upon the foundation that is the Word of the Lord, we will never deny the Word! Heavenly Father, I thank you and praise you. I thank you for Your Word, and Lord, I ask for You to help me understand it, and let it manifest itself in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
