Trusting In The God of Victory

"Finally be strong in the Lord and the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of the God so you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil." (Ephesians 6:10-11 NASB) At the end of the book of Ephesians, God gives us specific direction; stand firm against Satan. The context here means to stand against the devil. We can stand firm against the devil because we are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 1:13, 2:6). Satan thought by nailing Jesus to the cross and killing Him, that he would stop the power of God upon the earth. He knew Jesus had legal right and authority over his kingdom. What Satan didn't realize was Jesus would, in His death and resurrection, take back authority on the earth for all mankind. If that wasn’t bad enough for Satan, then Jesus commissioned and conferred His authority to you and me. Not only did Satan not keep Jesus, a man with God's authority from living, but now he has to deal with you and me; saints who possess Christ's authority upon the earth.

"Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God," (Ephesians 4:1 NLT). Today our walk of obedience to our Lord is not only to become like Jesus, but to exercise and administer His authority on the earth. We have the same life in us He had upon the earth; we have the same power of the Holy Spirit He had upon the earth; we have the same heart towards others. Is it any wonder Satan will attack us? He does not want the life we manifest to be seen by others, so they will come to the Lord. So, expect Satan and his demons to oppose and attack. If he attacked our Lord, he will attack us. But don't fear Satan because in Christ we are victorious. Stand firm, for you are the anointed of God.
